KOYO RACING/RAPTOR H6 Hybrid Radiator

KOYO RACING/RAPTOR H6 Hybrid Radiator

Postby Tradewind » Wed Jul 04, 2012 6:40 pm

This product has been called for a few times in the past, so far mostly from NA vehicle owners.

Can we supply a KOYO RACING RAD for the H6 - Yes we can, we will modify the H4 Turbo Rad for direct fit in the H6 engined cars. The only issue is they would be for MT only as KOYO dont do an AT version of the RAD for the H4 Turbo

Raptor will shift the outlets to the correct location/size for H6 application.

This is the item we would modify:

Subaru Legacy (05-09)
Part #: VH2778

Engine: 2.5L H4 TURBO

Transmission: MT

Note: Also Fits Spec. B

I have quite a bit of research to do on this one, some help has come from BD which I need to confirm

Only issue is Australia isnt the lowest cost place to produce anything except maybe for Coal! I will see what we can do

as far as I know that our 5EAT cooling spec is withen a special cooler that is a factory fitted to our engines. the cooler is between the engine and the engine oil filter. It is also used to cool the engine oil.

I've already installed an oil cooler for the engine and it is really good with our weather so far but too expensive. I used a Greddy Oil Cooler Adapter plate that came with a thermostate and a B&M oil cooler with a fan and a thermostate switch for the fan.

About LGT koyo performance radiator in our H6, what we need to do is to remove the marked area in the attached photo and get a new plate with two outlets insted of one outlet. There is also a small coolant return that we could use with a water cooled intercooler. All the other things like the fan mounts and the harness holder that runs beneath the radiator all the same and I already checked that.

If you need any other info, please ask :D

OK

For us thats quite an easy job, our alloy fabricator does all this kinds of mods when making up our intercooler radiators.

However, we need to get a rad and get started.

It can be said that any "decent" alloy welding fabricator/specialist can perform this modification, only thing is the handwork adds $$$$ to the final cost

Question what about the Koyo A2779, isn´t this part good enough? It´s a radiator for the H6, but it seems just for AT.

Vlad

That is not hijack or spam, that is extremely useful information - I would like those who want such a thing to copy it.

For those who cant get it copied then I am likely to offer converted radiators for the H6 application

A perfect example of some good ol ingenuity!

Top work, and thankyou especially for sharing it with us here.

Looks like a perfect fit once the changes have been made
