Supercharger Systems - 4GEN 2.5i Liberty/Legacy

Wholly s#$%...this looks awesome. How have I never heard about this before?

I've been complaining lately how I want a little extra pick up in my car for overtaking stupid slow drivers on the way to work every day in Far West Sydney. 80km/h zone with people sitting on 70, with only single lane overtaking and limited opportunities to get past, exacerbated by the lack in power in my 2.5i MY07 Liberty Wagon.

I was considering buying the GT but I've got quite extensive audio mods which would take a lot of work to re-do, plus I just love my car :P

Could this be the solution? What does it usually cost of this. Parts, labour and tune?

Best location to do it - Sydney! Good tuning support - Matt can handle that

Have full bolt on system - non Intercooled or Intercooled. Both work fine - depends on budget. The Intercooled version will lay down 150kw at all 4 any day, solidly proven

Only thing to check - confirm whether motor does or doesn't have TGV's (tumble generator valves) - hopefully not

$3600 non cooled

$5000 cooled

Hmmmmmm verrryyy tempting indeeed.

Now to check if I've got a TGV or not. Any tips on what that is and where to look? I'll be honest I only know audio, not much about engines.

One more question. How many on the forums have had this done and can comment on reliability? How many km's have you done since installed?

The TGV valves (if there are any on your car) are located at the end of the inlet manifold runner - where it meets the cylinder head

Less than 10% of my customers visit this form or any other, however there's at least 1 here

Hmm so there's no way to see if I've got those valves without physically inspecting?

And I haven't been around on here much so I'm not sure who Matt is sorry.

I contacted msengineering and he doesn't install these, and contacted mrt who said they'd get back to me with a quote but they haven't yet. Who else installs and tunes these?

Also, does it still matter which ecu version you have, or is just the tgv we have to check for?

Here is a picture of the valve location, it has this little shiney black electrical thing on the end of its shaft. If you take a pic of the same area i can tell you for sure.

As for Matt, he finds you, you don't find him lol. Never mind tho and all jokes aside when he is needed he will surface

Next thing - go here for the fitting http://www.mrcdyno.com.au/

The man at MRC has fitted and tuned 2 x 2.5 Liberty's and also a 2.0 Impreza with Raptor supercharger systems. He has the experience, apologies for not thinking of this earlier and saving you the bother of calling the non responsive types

Email me at: raptorsc@westnet.com.au if you like, I can assist you as needed, no problem

Thank you very much for your help!

I'll check it first thing tomorrow when I have adequate light.

Hopefully I can get a bit of an overall cost picture soon to pass onto the finance minister who is questioning why I need to spend money on an engine that's almost 200k km instead of 'just buy a new car'. The honerable minister just doesn't understand attachments to cars...

You are absolutely correct, what a pity, but its better than stuffing up your life and mine to find this out now. It can be done, MRT did it as they discovered too late what they had on their hands, they did succeed - all credit to them but I sincerely do not recommend going along this path. It is a LOT of modifications to the supercharger kit to fit it - way too many

Ah bummer! Yeah it'd be easier to just get the GT model and redo all my audio mods haha. We'll see what the finance minister says. Now to wait for a nice pearl white liberty wagon GT to come up...

Thanks for your time by the way, much appreciated to find out now as you say rather than later.

This one is not Liberty as such, but shows what can be achieved, standalone ECU, STI drivelind and vehicle is MY05 2.5RS wagon

This is an EJ25 with Raptor supercharger system at 13psi. Motor has big TWE cams, stroked a small amount and plenty care and attention to it in all areas.

221kw at the wheels as measured yesterday on a retune.
