RAPTOR SUPERCHARGER FOR LIB 3.0

Simon,

This is the only clip I have on file. Tim has since replaced the bearings in the S/C hence the whine is a little quieter but still audible.

Mark's is a hell of a lot quieter then mine.

Heard a clip of mark's. Sex on fast wheels. How does the sound of an intercooled version differ?

Mates and myself are still sitting on the fence on this one (along with a few others I suspect). We would like to see more runs on the board and see how things pan out.

Some things are just not gelling at this stage after reading through these forums.

Do tell, as every detail has been presented as found (independant of the manufacturer) I (and the current kit owners) would be the first to ask where the where the wierd stuff is

Over to you

I will answer when I get web access, I am out of Aus at this time

Tim:

I might missed it somewhere here, but would like to ask.. how many SC kits have been installed on 5EAT legys? interested to see the wtq.

Another question please: how far is the boost range of these SC kits anyways? without considering the safe range of a stock engine, 10psi I would say.

Saf

I will get the figures for you as we go along, especially if you want proven information.

For now its 7.5psi on all kits except the clutched and intercooled kits which are 9psi at the charger

10psi may be fine, 12psi may be fine, in time I will get you the answer. The charger can run over 10psi on some vehicles, let me see when I get to that point

Sorry I missed the bit about Auto trans cars - 3 If I recall, all in very different parts of the world, results between 185 and 205kw at wheels - with standard exhaust manifolds - I am thinking add at least 30kw if Raptor Performance Headers are fitted with high flow exhaust.

I have a feeling we will see vehicles with 240kw + at wheels before this year ends, some snappy H6s coming up

Remember with the Auto trans, it want to shift slowy on some shifts under boost, strong enough box but just annoying some shifts are slow. Some of that depends on the tuner as we recently saw there are values that can be changed in the ECU which alleviate this problem to a large degree. XRT knows how to adjust for benefits available in ECU

As far as I am concerned the kit being still in the “development phase”.

We will still be watching from the sidelines until development has been completed and also WHEN Raptor actually has a kit on his own vehicle. Rather wait for others to iron out the bugs before causing any damage to our own vehicle.

Also not having access to a tuner who will take on this project is a major downer as well.

From what I have gathered he is good with n/a 3.0l and turbos. But is still learning to tune the s/c. also from my enquiries in the past. Seems to have some gaps in his tuning knowledge.

Purely my opinion only of course. Would prefer someone local. Too many factors that cannot be addressed via an email tune.

What tuning gaps are you referring too?

What is special about sc except the smooth psi boost to redline?

What queries have you asked?

If you are to asked me the gains, I cannot tell you except for my past tune and what is out there.
The only difference in tuning the SC is that you don't need the type of AVCS tuning you would do for a Turbo, including afr to get it spooling.

I am fine with anyone chosing a local options. The stress in tuning the SC is the injector changes and dialing them in properly along with starting in cold and hot when the injectors info is not know clearly.

Can you please highlight the factors?

If you do not fully understand, just ask questions with the ability to learn. This is Raptor thread and they will respond accordingly. I will not full it with replies to those not doing the research and lack of understanding and not wanting to add to it. You have a great day SIR!

So are you saying that AFR are not inportant when tuning for boosted applications?
