Thankyou very much, I will compare those images later. If I was to make a guess on it I would say the kit will fit perfectly with that PS line system also.

I will check it more thoroughly soonest i get time

Very grateful for the assistance - I will definitely consider a small discount to anyone who offers help and may want to purchase a system later on. Its a great help when I have very limited contact with H6 vehicles at this time.

I wonder if BRAD88's vehicle is a pre facelift model, I could always check it on his and make sure I suppose - if that is the case

Call for assistance

I have been alerted to the fact that the power steering hoses on PRE facelift H6 engines may be different to POST facelift vehicles


Could anyone post up some pics of their power steering lines on a PRE facelift 3.0

The Raptor kit was templated,designed to fit a POST facelift H6 as it currently stands. It may or may not need modification for PRE facelift vehicles to accomodate changes with the PS lines.

I know Subaru did this on their 4 cyl cars as well, early models had metal lines directly off the PS pump whereas later models are all flexible Hydraulic lines, in those instances I have bracket designs to suit both of them.

It seems THAT hose is power steering

Are there any lines along the top of the chassis which are in connect with the PS on these PRE facelift models?

I have a post facelift, mines a 06 build 07 model,

If you do need to look at anything I can help with mine but as I said I have a post facelift model.

When I orders the gaskets to get my extractors made I was talking to the guy at Subaru in mackay and he said there's a few 6cyl libs in mackay,

But like I said if you do need any help let me know:)

I had a close look under my bonnet today, to compare where the pictured install would go and there seems to be two PS hoses running over the top or in close proximity to the PS pump. I am not so good with photos, but if I get an opportunity tomorrow, I will post some up.

One thing I did notice today is that location of the bonnet support. In the lowered position, it will cut directly across the site of the install (Not shown in any of the pictures as the bonnet is up and the support is in use). I am guessing you would already have observed this and I assume it is not a problem.

At the moment it seems the PS line situation can be accomodated, one of the kits has been temp fitted and the line can be moved to allow the kit to fit, some polythene or nylon hose wrap will be put around that line to protect it against abrasion. The hose wrap is common in the hydraulic industry and is an easy to source product

The bonnet rod was always in the picture from day one (initially I thought I couldnt work around it) and thats why the bracket is cut down on that end, to give clearance which is does perfectly however I added another idler up on the topside and the belt is suspected to just about touch the bonnet rod when folded down. Its a very easy fix but will change the way the belt looks - maybe thats just something we will have to accept. Dropping the idler 8mm will fix that one totally but belt will appear to drop down rather that seem symetrical with bracket.



Brad, thanks for offer, could you check and see if your vehicle has the PS line shown in the above images and let me know, ordinarily this hose does not appear on the newer models. PM me

It would seem most people here have the older type Libs? Just my luck to have worked with the newer model!

From the photo, it looks as if the Pre-Facelift model accommodates all your hardware and plumbing. Is there still concern/need for photos of the MY04-MY06 models?
