Droning is not a function of the headers as such, if you fit them to an otherwise stock OEM system, there is zero drone and zero noise increase at the rear of the vehicle.

Drone is a exhaust system design function, get some good muffling in right up the front and then you are 90% on top of drone, and then of course use another muffler or 2 as needed mid to rear of mid section.

Really, for best guide, follow the original OEM placement of the individual parts and simply improve with higher flow parts/joints. That way you will likely never experience drone.

Interested in a new set up but don't want noisy droning inside or to loud outside, just a better note. How are these for droning etc? And that eBay listing is ended

Drone is not an issue, it is the mid pipe which causes drone. Headers reduce the part throttle noise If anything sounds smoother/cleaner than it does now

From someone who has gone through changing the entire exhaust - these (awesome) headers did not cause any drone.

As Tim and Matt said, when I got drone is when I installed the catback (which removed the stock mid muffler). As soon as that happened I got drone, when the mid muffler finally went in, that removed it. Funny, that's what I wanted in the first place (based on posts here) but finding a decent exhaust shop was a mission. Plus some of the better mufflers aren't readily available in NZ.

Great headers, have not had any issues and that's for a while now.

I still have the stock mid section and have no drone, even with the Ultrex mufflers which are not far off a straight through pipe.

Gaz, apart from them actually being manufactured currently - that bit is 100% happening, but knowing how "flexible" they can be with ship out dates, I will let you know when I am certain
