Hard to believe, but there are roughly only 7 sets not spoken for on this 2nd shipment - when it arrives)

Just 7 sets left to put names to. Will be no more new orders until early July

OK, my shiny new stainless steel headers were fitted last Thursday!
Was recommended to a bloke to put these on and have to say I wasn't too impressed.
$350 and 3 hours later he still didn't seal his welds properly and there was an exhaust leak.
It was all fixed 20 mins later but to be honest, now that I've seen it done, I could have done this install myself in less than 2 hrs with a couple of coffee breaks. (shame I don't have a hoist though, despite my welding skills being pretty good. The hoist is a must to make life easy and simple!)

For the recent question in relation to the dual skin, Matt's reply is dead on. That's exactly what we did, basically seal the dual skin when we welded it to the flange, just before the stock cats. And of minor interest, there is a bit of weight to be saved too. Those stock exhaust manifolds are pretty bloody heavy!

But F%#K me, for all of the pissing about and cost above, I love Tim's product!
My fuel economy is currently down the toilet (from my very, very, very heavy right foot) and the plastic surgery needed to remove the permanent smile from my face could be costly, but wow. What a difference these things make.
My Lib still uses stock cats and back exhaust, and the only other mod has been a tune from Matt.

I will start with 'I' mode and say that even after Matt's tune (despite being 100% more driveable), 'I' mode felt like I was running on 4 cylinders (not 6) and towing 2 tonne boat at the same time! Great for driving in heavy traffic but no power when you needed it, even when you put your foot down.
Now, it honestly feels like 3/4 of the way or more to 'S' mode on a stock Lib before Matt's tune. The engine spins up and revs with no effort whatsoever. It has changed this mode completely. I can't wait to see what the average fuel consumption is like in this mode after I settle down and drive like a normal human being, as the instantaneous figures look nice. I was running an average of 10.8l/h around the city over nearly 3000km with a mix of towing a small trailer sometimes, traffic lights (this is Adelaide with a set of lights every 800m!) and some runs on longer sections of black stuff with no lights.

As for 'S' and 'S#' modes........F#####%K me. I don't know what else to say. Matt's tune changed these modes completely to start with. Now, it's off the charts. The combination of these mods has turned this thing into a license chewing weapon. Although the exhaust sounds no louder from the back than it did before, when you really put your foot down you can hear more noise from in front of the steering wheel, just the rush of air as it flies out of the engine and through the headers. It's an interesting sound!
There is no hesitation whatsoever and the engine revs so quickly you need to be on the ball if you are in manual mode so as to not hit the limiter!
I can't wait for Matt's retune and update just to polish it off!

No one I know can believe that for less than $1500 I have transformed my vehicle's performance so dramatically. So anyone who hasn't done these mods, and doesn't want to mess about too much with their vehicle or spend too much, I can say it is well worth the effort and cost to do just these 2. You will not be disappointed.

So huge thanks to Tim for the development and production of these headers. They are marvelous. And without Matt to truly make the most of the gains these headers offer (and what Subaru held back in the engine management), where would we be?!

You guys have no idea how happy you have made me to start with, and I guess all of us!!
Karl.

Got em on! Sounds great! Grunty note from the engine and smoother power output. Didn't rev it past 4500rpm but the result is definitely there...smells like somehtings burning..hopeing it the norm... Setup is: Raptor headers, stock cats, xforce centre +ypipe and sti muffler.

BUT! My engine light is on and cruise control light is flashing! Simple remove battery and reset ecu?

Ps: same post as I just did in fb!

Nick

Usually you get a few smells after having exhaust work done - oily finger prints etc

About the light - was it immediately on when you collected car?

We suspect the O2 sensors wiring looms been swapped front to back ;)

It gets better... your ECU has flex fuel now with E85 and 98 on the same tune.

Exhaust shops can really do some weird stuff

Have the vehicle checked soonest you can - I know PUDZ had some real issues with his exhaust shop swapping sensors/plugs etc - nearly sent him banana's

They must make certain that the sensors are plugged in as they were previously.

It isnt known that the CEL can trigger like that from just fitting the headers, the motor isnt even warmed up properly in that time.

Very annoying indeed. Also got all this rattling and clunking. probably just heat shields but f*ck...Should be checked.

He also mentioned he didn't remove the O2 sensors from the cats, just unplugged them..which is also strange that they are failing.

may have some answers over the next couple days.

The H6 has Front oxygen (A/F) sensors just before the cats and Rear oxygen sensors just after the cats. Both will need to be unplugged when changing over headers.

They both use the same connector but are colored differently.

Take it back to the shop or jack up the vehicle and have a look see.
