I like that response. It seems that you have paid considerable attention to the details of the design.

Hello Tim,
nice installation, but where you will find place to install the vlc stuff like the pump and reservoir?

Supercharger prelim results - SCv0

Postby west_minist » Fri Apr 29, 2011 9:41 pm

review http://xtremeracingtuning.com/forum/vie ... 1096#p1096 for notes.
Lower values were just a full exhaust header system without SC.

max boost was up to 4+psi, non 100% throttle, IAT=72C avg, IAM=0.8. Again results are so prelim, but only post to show as info. Please treat it as that.

Thanks West

Yes it is work on progess, over the next day or so you will have more info on the power output all the way through to 6900rpm

The area under the curve - as you say - has increased nicely

The loss of torque below 4000 rpm looks considerable. Will that improve with further tuning over the non SC curves?

I think Edward mentioned it was only a small throttle setting until well into the RPM range, it the throttle is opened you will see the torque. It is also why the power/torque curves skyrocket suddenly - once the throttle was opened at 3000rpm

I think there is more detail in the tuning thread - check out what comment the tuner has made.

While logging, the customer decided to floor it a bit. So it was not a full 3rd pull from low RPM.

Ok, so those comments would be very useful when you post up the results.

Can you see we are all eager for a good result? Over what period of time do you expect to have more stable results posted? Will it be days, weeks or months?

Tune up time

Postby Tradewind » Sat Apr 30, 2011 9:40 am

OK can do, dont worry that it wont be good, it will be, it always is.

Timelines: I think xtremeracingtuning should have his tune on this first car almost at 98% complete by this afternoon, they made good progress yesterday and the remote tuning scheme seems to work very well.

The other customer has hit a brick wall today and is understandably gutted, his tuner had family issues and simply couldnt do the job today. The results of this one could be a week or so away.

Next come the intercooled stage - it could be around 4 weeks, the tuning of it will only take them a couple of hrs once the intercooler hardware is in.

Driveby and start up videos have been asked for and maybe online by tomorrow night

I am sorry but its difficult keeping up with all the posting on both site and on other cars.

I take my time in tuning and it is based on how soon the customer gets back logs to me. The car is customed tuned to peak performance.

We are on scv3.

Sorry, thats why i posted the critical graphs. Once the tuning calms down, will be able to post a little more details.

SCv3 vs SCv1 Dynos comparison

Postby west_minist » Sat Apr 30, 2011 11:34 am

Highest figure is SCv3. Ripples due to road conditions and logging speed. Tomorrow we will reduce some values. Increase power due to AVCS tuning. More tuning is needed, but customer halted tuning until tomorrow. Been a good few hours.

308 - 310 HP so far @ 5psi - not Intercooled. Ambient temps are around 31 - 32c, hottish!

Totally confident now we can get 360hp with cooling and another 3 psi boost.

If we tried for 10psi with cooler we can't be far away from 400hp, that's probably around 300kw on the treads from the simplest upgrade you can ever get

Lets hear it from the MAN

Postby Tradewind » Sat Apr 30, 2011 12:36 pm

At this point we need to hear from the owner, he is currently the only person on the planet who can tell us how this feels to drive, etc etc

I think in time we will get near enough to that to be plenty happy and the cost will be vastly less for the customer
