The finish wasn't very good for a brand new car. Do all new cars come crap like that?

All depends on the dealership. That's why it's best to tell the dealership not to clean it when it arrives. Just hope they don't use a buffer as well!

A recent full body two tone respray was not finished that well and after several complaints he wasn't happy with the job and wanted me to fix it.

It was a a nice combo of pearl red and darker red at the back but the finish and paint job wasn't great! Orange peel, overspray and they didn't finish down when wet sanding.

Following up the original RX8 from the 20th of November 2011, the returning customer (Same owner with the Audi R8) was booked in for a light polish and now wanting Opticoat:

It's good to see the car had been looked after

AFTER: (The key mark required a full wet sand and then a process of flattening the paint. This reduced the key mark whilst still leaving plenty of clear coat still on the car)

Yeh, must harder work then getting out swirl marks as you need to be very patient and have the technique to wet sanding etc.
