Lets talk tuning (KiDo Tunes)

I’m fairly sure Matt’s taking time out to prepare for major surgery.
Someone’s bound to chime in if otherwise.

I’d Imagine Matt’s limiting travel at this time.
He does pop up on FB from time to time, but that’s all I know.

Wow, just read this now.

I hope you're doing OK, Matt.

I suppose doing launches in AMG Mercs and STi Subies is probably no good for the 'old heart!

Take care and we look forward to seeing you when you're all good :)

He’s still tuning from what I can see on FB which is possibly the place to PM him.

If you’re going with any tune from any tuner, I’d recommend getting up to speed with SSM logging, prior to getting tuned.
With eg Btssm or Romraider.

That way you can be sure your car is healthy before and after the tune.
Some basic upgrades/maintenance prior is good too.

Eg a new maf and a/f sensor, silicone throttle body hose (essential), silicone inlet, 3port ebcs, 3” dump pipe and say a 265 drop in fuel pump and new bucket filter.

Sorry for the newbie sounding question but it seems Libs are a lot harder (more expensive) to mod...eg.. very restricted range, and no easily affordable turbos etc, etc.. So as posted above, a good downpipe (I already have a good exhaust), silicon piping, maybe CAI pod in guard to get the induction sound and making sure the engine is serviced etc which would cost around $1500, my question is .....

What KWTS atw would you expect without winding up the boost or doing anything "unsafe" for the engine ???

With a Vf46, 3” tbe etc, around 180awk.
The vf46 is out of efficiency after 18psi or so.
Going further sees diminishing returns.
And regardless the torque peak will be more in the mid range than the top.
Vf52, e85, 1000cc injectors, around 200awkw and some more top end.
Cai does not make much difference at this power level.
Either should be fine for the stock auto which is said to struggle after 220awkw.

Personally, I’m tuned for 15psi which will briefly overshoot to 18 or so when pushed hard in lower gears: headroom is good.

On the other hand tuner coyote considered vf52, 1000cc, e85 at 12psi for 180awkw to be safe for his car...

Injector upgrades at these power levels are said to be substitutable for an fpr with raised base pressure, consult your tuner.

Don’t forget the upgrade fuel pump, double o ringed with a new intank filter, 3port ebcs etc.

If you’re getting a tune on the stock tmic, another essential is a silicone throttlebody hose and good clamps, I use oetiker stepless from Aircraft Spuce: avspec.
And silicone turbo inlet pipe due to the stock item rotting from pooled blow-by.
And or an air oil separator with drainback for oil consuming or tracked engines, or a catch can for low oil consuming engines.
