Actually I think Zach has problems. Page 17 if this thread shows his IAM is less than 1.0 and his knock strategy is in full effect.

And having a tune being "fine for the first few runs" is not a measure of success. It should run without failure all the time unless a mechanical issue occurs and then a CEL is thrown. The CEL should not be disabled either and the mechanic shouldn't have to guess whether it's the tune or a mechanical component.

Your tunes are just not offering this comfort level.

You've got people checking for boost leaks for weeks (mrtayls on OzFoz) with nothing found. People cleaning their MAFs and reseting ECUs by disconnecting battery terminals fortnightly to stop surging issues that reappear eventually and finally, your communication sucks.

Either do something properly or don't do it at all.

PM sits in outbox until read and then disapperars from outbox when read.

Been in contact with Matt with hopefully a satisfactory outcome for all.

My car never had a CEL in the whole time I owned it until it was tuned just fyi.

The thing I dont understand is why the first tune was perfect for my needs and then an assumed simple tune tweak for adding a 3" centre resulted in all these issues?

Oh well, I just want it back to the way it was first time around. Fingers crossed.

There is an AUDIBLE leak which he can confirm sounds like a whoopee cushion once it comes on boost coming from the passenger side of the engine bay.

I also thought you were refering to ZCH91 with his tune, not the page 17 Zach.
Yes Bruce, the IAM has dropped but it was pulling a total of less than 1.4 degrees of timing in ONE area if IAM was on 1.00, all the rest are showing it was adding timing back up to full IAM which is what the blue values are for...

Based on this I find your 1.4 degrees a bit hard to believe.

IAM drops to 15/16th's(or 0.9375) so 15/16ths of total KCA value is applied so around 0.25 degrees of timing pulled across the tune. ECU adds timing in blue values to return IAM to 1.000 and the negative figure was a -1.05 so less than 1.4 degrees of timing pulled which is why a later LV check shows IAM back to 1.00 and the red value being there. There was no 'severe' knock since I do not use the horrendous factory timing values of 18 degrees timing etc.

The maths is quite obvious. Use a large value of say 16 or more in the KCA and then it would have pulled 1 degree of timing plus the -1.05 for -2.05 but all of the blue values would have been 1.00 degrees etc for the same result as if IAM had been on 1.000 total FLKC would be the same value. It is all relative and quite a few people undertand this... If IAM was 0.750 and KCA had values of 18, then you would have 4.5 degrees of timing being pulled. Pulling 4 or 5 degrees of timing with an IAM at 0 is actually the right amount of timing being pulled to account for low octane fuel once the failsafe fuel map is applied.

Need me to explain it with graphs on why it is a safety first approach?

Just to clarify, it was 3.5 weeks between getting my tune done and then getting my first P0607 CEL (Since I had owned the car in ~7 months). From there it was every 3-4 weeks it would pop up, otherwise the car drives like a dream. I have a feeling it is to do with the TB & the ECU somehow, though I am no mechanic/experienced tuner so I can't really comment.

I had the code cleared at a mechanic the other day for interest sake and it actually made it worse for a little bit, been fine since.

Not a word......

I guess he hopes the issues will just go away if he ignores them.

And to think I was adamant about giving him $50 on the retune for his time.....

Thanks for the big canning here Mark. :angry2: Fact is you have NEVER tried to contact me about any issue. I have not had time to keep up with all the threads on all the forums lately due to a personal health problem but I do respond to PM's or phone calls.

From what I have read you changed the exhaust, had a problem and blamed the tune. If you have a problem, contact me. I run KiDo Racing and I always fix any issues that come up. Matt is not always contactable for a number of reasons but I am. In future if you have an issue, try contacting the right person to begin with.

Im sorry Bryce, but I was unaware I had to contact you about a tune issue, most people would contact the tuner not the receptionist if they have an issue with a tune.

Im one who always cuts out the middle man as much as possible and deals direct. Generally better results.

You have read my issues wrong. Nothing has been been changed without a tune chane to suit. Matt is in contact with me now and he knows the the issues.

Thanks.

Bryce whats the difference between a kido tune and a TH tune exactly?
I didn't think Mark went to a dyno with Matt? How are you involved exactly?

The difference is in who does the marketing for the tune. All tunes organized through this site are done under the KiDo Racing banner.

Ahhh okay so that means my tune was done directly though Matt then I guess, seeing as the number 1 fan Bruce put me on to Matt.
Was just interested to know.

I guess I can still post here by saying that my tune is finalised as of this weekend. Matt gave me a minor update for the overrun / popping reduction like I asked for.
