Electrical issue

Postby Daniel33 » Fri Aug 25, 2017 12:03 am

I have a power drain in my son's "04 Outback. The meter says it is drawing 0.12 Amps with everything off and locked. What could it be? It flattened a new battery in a matter of a week.

Could be any number of things.

Start pulling fuses to identify the offending circuit.

Yeh, thanks for that. I was kind of hoping someone might be able to identify the general region by the current draw. It seems to me it could be a solenoid in the engine bay, but i am not sure.

I found it. The key sensor is still active even when the key barrel is in the lock position and all the doors are closed. I had left the key in the ignition for several days, and the sensor flattened the battery.
