Help me install my HID Fogs?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has done this before and isn't too busy this weekend, maybe I could drive around to your house if you are around Melbourne-ish and you could help me install them :D
Six pack of beer is the reward!

Just spent about 3 hours installing all the other lights myself as I got pretty much every light for the car (From hks180 (Leo) except reverse and brake lights, but I'm a little worried about doing the HID fogs as it looks pretty complex with all the wiring involved.
Thanks,
Kieran.

If you can do it, then I definitely can!
You managed to spell my name wrong in 2 parts of it, when it's spelled out correctly 3 times on the page for you already!

Regards,
KIERAN

Hey mate,

once you get these installed, id like to see the outcome. I think you are the first post-facelift to try and install HID's in your fogs.

You should have bought the lights from me, since I'm local...

I can give you some guidance on how to install it, maybe this weekend.

HID in low beam is walk in the park
HID for 04-06 fog light is walk in the park ..
HID for high beam & HID for 07+ fog light require to run relay kit which requires a bit more work ..
With all the people who order from inter state i do send them a instruction with photos .. but some people are bit more handy when it comes these things.
but i must say i could of done a better instruction for the fog light install ... since Kieran is the first person do use HID on a 07+ fog light....

Hey Kieran you can do it mate .. i'll call you when you do the install and i 'll go through them with you !!

Relay kits are no more difficult in that it just requires two more wires to be run.

Thanks Clarence but I guess I will give it a go myself, and then if I break anything I can use the reward 6 pack to drown my sorrows
should I jack the car up at the front on both sides with some blocks behind and infront of the rear wheels or is that still too dangerous?
Also can anyone link me to a guide to taking off the front bumper if it's easier to do the install that way? Thanks.

you can do it without taking the front bar (try that way first)
it would be a good idea to jack you car up or drive onto a ramp to give yourself more room to work with.

I do not yet have the luxury of a proper ramp, so provided double jacking it is safe (that sounds rather gay upon re-reading it) I will have to do it that way.
And you told me to take the front bar off because it's easier, now you change your mind :P
Expect a couple of calls in frustration from me this weekend when I have no idea what I'm doing!

If you don't have ramps just get a couple of pieces of 10x2 or 10x3" timber sleeper (buy from Bunnings or a timber yard), stick one under each front wheel and drive up onto it. You'd be surprised how much clearance it gives you having the front wheels elevated by only a few inches especially if your car isn't lowered.

Lock handbrake on tight and it's as safe as houses.

hahahaha ... if you take the front bar off then when you do the wiring it;s easy as you can see exactly what you doing .... but pain to take the front bar off .. (good idea get someone help you to remove and put the front bar on.

If you don't take the front bar off then ... you got less room to work with and sometimes it's bit hard to see ..

Gubbo did a excellent write up on how to install HID on pre face lift Liberty ...

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6199

it give you idea how to get access to fog light with out taking the front bar off ..

yeah sure mate just let me know when you start the install mate ~

After having done it once I would NOT remove the front bar unless absolutely necessary, it is tricky to get back on if you don't have two people, and I put a scratch down one side when it slipped doing it as a 1 man job.
