STI Front Lip Install (MY08)

Postby Laps » Wed Jun 09, 2010 3:19 pm

My STI Lip is currently on its way and should be here by the weekend...

Ive tried to search on install guides, and all people say is 'its pretty easy'.

If this has already been posted or there is a guide somewhere, feel free to link me (as I couldnt find much on when searching)...

Is it as simple as putting the screws in holes, or is drilling required etc.?

I found a some of guide on the net, but the dude was basically complaining that none of the holes lined up etc...

Thanks! :)

Some holes are already obvious, some need drilling (also obvious), use cable ties across the centre and screw in at the sides and corners only (in case of speed hump errors you wont pull off the whole bumper).

Start at the corners and affix first and move towards the centre of the bar. All up 15-20 minutes work.

Okay (sorry, pics are bad quality),

My lip has now arrived...
Image

It has come with 3 different types of screw thingys...
Image

There are 2x the left screw (some sort of clip/screw thingy), 12x the middle screw (more like a rubber thing with thread in the middle), and 12x the right screw (normal screw with washers).

The right screw goes inside the middle screw, like so (Im not sure if the top or bottom way is correct :? ):
Image

Now, once the middle screws have been combined with the right screw, this means there are 14 screws in total.

There are 17 screw holes on the lip :S I have no idea which screw goes where lol...

Sorry for confusion, if anyone can help that'd be great :)

you have pm too..

but I will try and take some photos... i think the 2 x left picture screw is for the left and right where the wheel guard is...

the rest should be under the car

if you have your car hoisted you should be able to see where there are existing screws that you take out to mount and then the rest is drilling.

it was 2 years ago when mine was installed and it was Phat GT that installed it.....
