I just ran it under the carpet. Remove center armrest, and you can get under the carpet easily via existing areas where the handbrake and gearshifter goes through. Use a shortened knitting needle or chopstick etc to thread wiring under tight areas.

do as tek said.

you shouldnt run wiring inside the transmission tunnel ive been told as the single running down the wiring can sometimes interfere with other singles moving few causing errors ect.

ive got heaps of wiring running under the carpet and under the central console area and you cant notice it at all.

Tek,

Question I have is whats involved in removing the centre armrest please? Just the two screws under covers at the rear lower sides ? Anything inside the cubby there? I have an aux in there....Any fixings at the front end of the assembly, where it meets the gear lever (6mt) ?
thanks

Have a look at this walkthrough for a bit of information. It was in a 2007 auto so not exactly the same as yours but I think is a reasonable starting point for you.

Might be worthwhile PMing Noozl... He was actually doing this on Sunday night on his 3RB Manual Sedan.

Started off this job today. So far so Good. A couple of things different from the 07 auto that may save others some wondering.
Mine is a gtb 6mt, 08. The hand brake boot comes off as noted. The 6mt gear boot clips out easily, as the whole boot with outer ring is flexible enough to unclip easily. This make the difficult black catch noted easy to separate, and free the front of the tunnel cover. The rear is released as documented, two screws under covers at the rear. The large white plug at the rear is a bugger to get to the catch and release, but if you winkle the cable past the piece that is captured by a fixing screw, then release the grey clip holding the whole plug/socket to the tunnel cover, you can open it easily.
Next issue then is the tricky one - the aux in plug/lead. On my tunnel cover there is a duct running air from the heater/ac down the tunnel to outlets at the rear. This duct is screwed to the underside of the tunnel cover, and makes access to the aux plug impossible. There is one screw on the underside at the front inside the opening of the duct - easy to get at looking under the unit, and then another halfway down the duct. This last I found I needed to rotate the cover 90degrees to expose the underneath to get at. With the duct off , the aux plug is easy to separate.
