remove map pocket?

G'day,
just wondering, the map pocket (i guess thats what its called) on top of the clock.
how on earth do i take that out? do i pry it out with the vents and all or is there a certain trick to get it out?

get a flat head screw driver, and wrap the end with a rag to stop you from marking the interior. Gently pry the top and bottom corners out, on the left and right side of the cubby pod. its easier to also pry out the drivers side first then can do the rest by hand. the tabs that hold it in place, i believe are about 1cm from the top, and same for the bottom. there is a tutorial somewhere as well with more detail. if you do a search for cubby then you might have better results

took it out this morning, i wasnt happy with the lack of light in there.
i found some blue LED's i had laying around from an old project so i fitted them in.

First time I've seen someone install extra lighting in there, good stuff! BTW I'm not sure what kind of maps you could fit in there, maybe a tiny pocket guide of the railway system

. Most people call that compartment the cubby hole.

when i can be assed, i'll get 3 red led's to change over with, to match the dash
