What is the best way to badge a mesh grill with a badge that well, isnt actually made for a mesh grill haha. Any hints?

I glued it on last time, but in the 50+ degree heat we get here in Mildura, it went soft and either fell off, or somebody took it. Either way glue didnt work, and i dont know how welding would work as the badge is plastic.

You could try a silicon. There is silicon that can withstand quite high temperatures and will stick to pretty much anything. There are many that come in black as well - I am sure that you can find a Sikaflex product to meet your needs. Might not meet your budget though.

Epoxy a nail or some soft metal on the back of the badge, and then bend the metal around the mesh on the other side.

For me, I normally buy these metal clips from Office Works:



1. You may have to trim down the width and length, depending on the size of your mesh holes
2. Bend the clip into a U shape
3. Glue (I tend to use the double sided tape from 3M) your badge onto the bottom of the U
4. Slide the clip through the grill and bend the legs towards the centre to secure the badge onto the grill
5. You may have to use a bit of double sided tape to stop it from shifting/being loose

But I found by doing this you preserve your badge and your grill as nothing is permanent.

my GT badge that i got from subaru stuck straight onto my mesh grill but since then our temps haven't been too extreme... but that clip from office works is a great idea

Polythene, comes in a liquid nail type tube. about $20 from any decent hardware. its black and flexible and great on my last grill?

i just got two small bolts, used areldite to glue them to the back of the subie badge, slipped it onto my grille, and put the nuts on with washers in between. i also put loctite just in case.

i kept trying to find the right badge, but thought stuff it, and used my own. i can take pics if you want, but its pretty straight forward

get areldite
2 small bolts with nuts
2 small washer
loctite

place head of bolt onto badge
mix areldite
place areldite on head of bolt ( i saturated it)
wait
slip through grille
place two smal washers on the thread
place loctite
tighten nuts

stand back 20m
bask in the glory that is a homemade badge

I used cableties, found them alot handier than any clips purchused from officeworks
