How Do I: Remove trim on Rear Parcel Shelf

Hi all,

Just wondering, how do I go about removing the rear parcel shelf trim. Are there any walk throughs or pics???

V.Day is coming up and my gf doesn't know what to buy me so I am going to suggest a pack of DynaMat so I can reduce some rattles coming from the rear.

Have used to search to no avail so any help would be appreciated.

You'll probably find that if it's the parcel shelf rattling then it's the center seatbelt ratchet mechanism... not much you can do about that. If you don't have the parcel shelf mounted sub then Dynamat won't be of much help anyway.

If you really want to go ahead then you have to remove the rear seat cushion, seat back, rear 3 quarter trims, then you can remove the parcel shelf trim.

Better off using it on your front doors.

Well... that's effectively discouraged me from my plan of finding a GT/3.0R parcel shelf so I can replace my 10" box sub with an 8" in the parcel shelf Dreamsmasher Jim to the rescue!

Thanks for the tips, have plenty of Dynamat on front doors when i had my front speakers upgraded (see sig).

I'm not looking at going all out on the stereo in this car, I want to utilise OEM speaker positions where possible, hence why I am looking to deaden rear parcel shelf and replace factory "sub" and thus trying to sell my JL Audio subs. Just using the old K.I.S.S method this time around. Been there done that when it comes to chasing SPL and big wattages, have gone from basic systems to going all out and been slowly "downgrading" over time lol

Parcel shelf sub should only be a last option IMHO too small, too rattly, not enough transient response.
