Has anyone found where the antenna/receiver module is in the Liberty, to increase the range by adding an antenna of sorts?

But how much of an increase were you after? Because wouldn't the transmission from the remote unit also be a limiting factor as well? Have you tried holding the remote under your chin?

i found my controller was l/h door side of the glove box under passenger side air vent

i opend it and extended the antenna but it didnt make to much difference

Just hold the key up next to your head when you press the button I've amazed many a person with that little trick, hehehe

Yep that's where it is. It's a very small white box about the size of a box of matches. Remove the glovebox and look up to the side of the vent. The factory system isn't bad for range, I used to get around 5m out of it, but it doesn't beat an aftermarket system with a longer antenna whereby I can get around 10m.

I've compared my keyless entry to an 07 one and the 07 is significantly longer range...

Remember though, once you open it you've only got 30 sec to open the door or it locks again. You don't want to have to sprint to get the door open.

Lol I think it's more so you can check that the car is locked, from afar but with the car in visual range.

What if I was disabled huh?

but no, seriously tho, it's more for the times I want to open the boot. Even standing right next to the car, the boot doesn't open when I hold down the button.

Have you tried the other remote? Maybe the button's a bit dodgey. Or try the obvious which is to replace the battery.

Tried both... no luck

I open the boot, but don't unlock the car... 30 seconds later, the alarm decides to arm itself, so when I shut the boot it goes off!

Strange, as the alarm won't arm if I have opened the boot before locking the car...
