Oh wow!

I thought it was just unlucky to get the first fuse to blow, but now I have 2 dead fuses from the ciggy lighter cos of this Iphone Charger with FM transmitter!

does anyone know if I can safely change from the RED 10A to yellow 20A so it won't blow !?!

I wouldnt as the wiring may not support it...

Wont dont you use the 1 in the console box it is 15 or install another Cig plug off a biffer fuse.

There is no way that device should be pulling more than 10 amps, there's something wrong with it. Maybe an intermittent short circuit.

Does the facelift car have different fuses for the two cigarette lighters?

The MY05 workshop manual shows a 10A fuse for the cigarette lighter, and a 20A fuse which supplies both the console power connector, and the rear one if fitted on a wagon.

well ok a cig socket the ones u ind in your cars are all rated to 10 amps the cig plug that are on most items are rated to about 8 amps max, if its blowing then there is 90% a short circuit in the plug its self, thats why the fuse blows instead of your wiring going all ape shit on you, i would never recommend you replace the 10amp fuse n the socket with a 20 amp fuse if you do then u will have a wiring harness in ya libs going ape shit on you.......

i would either try another device to check if the socket is faulty, if the socket is fine then the plug that is plugging in to it, u can get a new plug from jaycar check this link and re wireing the plug to elimate the short.....

oh yer dont worry i have customers that come to me on a regular basis with the same therory of upgrading the fuses to bigger ones...

just chuck the fuse out and stick a nail in there. You'll soon find the source of your problem
