Has anyone had their guards rolled/flared?

Postby stefan9155 » Sun Nov 08, 2009 5:54 pm

Hey guys, just wondering who's had their guards rolled or flared?
How much does it cost roughly? I'm also in Melb, so suggestions for where to go would be nice :)
Thanks

Rolled, did it myself. Use a rubber mallet and just gently tap it out.

A few guys up here in Syd have had it done... Trick is not to crack the paint :P & even if you go to the best guy around, he will not be able to guarantee he won't crack the paint :(

Thus why I purposely went looking for rims that would work without rolling etc.

Here in Adelaide there is a shop "Wheelworx" that guarantee not to crack your paint if its factory paint (i.e. not re-sprayed). I guess his guarantee is that if he cracks it, he'll pay for re-spray?! Anyway, he rolled the guards on my Legnum VR4 and they were perfect, no cracks ;) Cost me $60 per corner (had the 2 rears rolled).

I have also rolled using the rubber mallet method on another car, and wouldn't do it that way again. Much better off paying the $60 per corner for another person to do it.

Sorry I can't help with any Melbourne-ites to do it.

Thanks for the info guys, I was expecting it to be much more expensive, like over $500 lol. I'll get that done and lower it with some teins or eibachs and post some pics up during this summer :)
