So I have to get new rear springs and I was quoted for 240 bucks for stiffer King Springs
Is King the best for subaru or is there another brand that I should be getting done?

LOL! Who told you Kings were the best? The sales guy?

I m looking for some springs too, but as I know, Kings is the most common and cheapest in the market, just around 250 for a set!!

any good recommendation? below $400 budget? cheers!

No one really, he just said we'll throw on some Kings for 240

im happy with that price cos im broke as hell lol

I run tein springs in my gen 3. Ride height is perfect, comfort is ok and handeling is very good. Got then from Micheal (phat gt) also tein in japan actually tested and engineered then for my model

I just got the king sping heavy duty lows for my wagn and its fine. i tow a jet ski and bit of weight in the boot full time (approx 250kg)
and also love a good hill run when the feelings right! its stiff but not stupid day to day and has a good feel through the hills even with all the weight in the boot.

The biggest thing that got me was that i picked up the springs and heavy duty swaybars front and rear all for less than the cost of S-tech springs, yeh the S-techs would be alot better spring than the kings but getting just springs or having both h/d swaybars and lowered springs. It was a clear pick for me

Sh1ft has said it all. Since you are on a budget Talev the King Springs are probably your best bet. They do the job but are by no means amongst the better range of springs for our cars.

For better springs i.e. Eibach, Swift, Tein, H&R you are easily paying $500.00+ even before they are fitted to your car. For your budget you will find it better value for money to buy King Springs and an upgraded rear swaybar, get a good wheel alignment.

The difference between good springs and average ones?

1. How close the actual spring rate is, to their advertised spring rate. This is especially important for springs that claim to be linear.
2. Their manufacturing tolerance. This tells you how likely each of the 4 springs in your car are going to be different from each other.
3. Durability of the spring and resistance to sagging over time.
4. The amount of compression before the coils bind.
5. Weight.

When it comes to springs, I wouldn't be buying anything unless they were Eibach, H&R or Tein... IMO other springs like Kings etc are just 2nd rate.

Yeah i definatly am on a budget so im most likely going for the kings
