Good mechanic/workshop in Perth?

Postby MY05WAGON » Fri Mar 02, 2007 7:35 pm

Hello all ...... i need some help to find a trust worthy mechanic who can do the "log book" servicing on my wagon in perth. Took my wagon in to a Subaru dealer today for the 25000k service and received a shock when i got the bill. Basically after proving a point to them they refunded me some money on the bill (100bucks). Makes you wonder what exactly they are charging you for??? any help would be appreciated.

Cheers Mik

How much did they charge you, and what point did you argue?

I just had my 25,000k service two weeks ago, and the charge was $255.75

388 ........ just a whole lot of inspect inspect inspect .......... changed the oil and filter, sump plug, wheel alignment, rotation, upper engine clean and the only thing different this time from the prior service was they had (engine oil flush i think, and that was 28 bucks). So after i questioned the guy at the desk why on earth the price difference considering the prior service was practically the same blah blah blah he mentioned it might be the spark plugs (i told him they were platinums and they are done at 100k.... he just said something along the lines of wrong hours booked ..... re-did the service itinerary minus the "oil flush" refunded me the 380 odd and charged me 280 odd instead.

only thing i might point out is i purchased the vehicle second hand from them about 2 months ago. It was originally purchased from them and they have done all the servicing on it since new. Luckily the prior owner left all receipts in the log book.
Maybe they thought this guy wont know what we charged prior and thought they would try it on?

To top it off i had warranty issue with car (needles don't deflect on start up). When i came to pick up the car after they had it for a good 6 1/2hrs, i asked them did they sort out the needle thing, it was then the mechanic decided to grab the keys again drive it into the workshop and plug it into the computer again. i was told i need to book it in again ....... but they were busy for the next week or so.
go figure?

Did you read the owner manual yet?
That's something you can turn on and off yourself! :)

Some of the Subaru Specialist places here are:

Revlimit motorsports -Carslile

And also try Jim Hall - 0413 900 796, he's a mobile mechanic .

I haven't used Jim before, he was recommended to me by a good friend and Jim's also highly regarded among the perth WRX boys.

I've only used Revlimit from that list.

Bye,
Mo

Good ol ozzie park dealership? Think ill try city subaru next time whilst the car is still under NCW, just found out my neighbour knows one of the service counter guys there, try my luck.
After NCW runs out i think ill give Jim Hall a go, being mobile works good for me.

Amfor Motors

Postby Sheik Jabooti » Tue Apr 28, 2009 7:14 pm

I've used Amfor motors in East Perth for years. Nice guys and know their stuff. Not sure if they have any ECU software though. Does anyone else have any feedback on these guys?
