what horror stories you heard Kosti? It was just done on my last service by the dealer. I do notice the car idles alot lot better. Thinking ill do it in between services.
I've been in contact with MO GT and as always he has been really helpful. Here is his reply to my msg.

All you do is, first warm up the motor to normal operating temp, switch it off shake the can, remove a suitable vaccum line somewhere on the inlet manifold after the intercooler and empty half the can with the motor turned off. Let it sit for a while - 5mins i think. then strat the motor - it won't start up easily but keep trying and should start within 3 or 4 tries.

Once the motor is on, empty the rest of the can and then rev the motor to purge all the stuff out. you should see a lot of white smoke out the exhaust . you might see white smoke after that when you start up the car - this will clear up in a day or two.

It should be done at every service time. So those of you who do not take it to a Subaru service centre. Take your own along and make sure that they use it.

it is done at every service (unless asked by the customer not to) except the 5000km service. if someone wants to take a picture of their engine bay ill show you which host to run the cleaner through.

Hey Buddah.

I had 12,500km service done at Sydney City Subie this month. Included the upper engine clean.

Upper engine cleaner was $16.37. Total Labour was $110. Total service cost $260. Dunno where you get $180 from. Mebbe you should change your dealer.

Greg.

Or just do it yourself, thus making it cheaper for you.

Yeh, I had it done on by last service (12,500 km) and it was only $203 all up including Synthetic Oil. I doubt they would charge $180 just for the one thing.

The other day when i dropped my car off to Subaru to get some work done there was a mechanic putting some UEC in an outback, there was a vacuum line pretty much in the middle of the intake manifold where he was spraying this stuff in.
I've looked around on the 2.0GT for a vacuum line somewhere similar, but there is none around there that i could see, the only place i thought would be a good place to spray this stuff in with ease is the little vacuum line that plugs into the top of the BOV as the other side of this line connects to the bottom side of the intake manifold and its pretty much in the middle for even distribution, anyone sprayed in this hose before? didnt know if this stuff would leave some residue in the hose (hose is 250-300mm long) and maybe cause a problem with the BOV.
I know i should have asked the mechanic but i didnt think about it until afterwards at home when i was checking out to see if they had replaced my 02 sensor.

Cheers
Mik
