MY08 Spec B tuned by sti, S402 conversion

I am looking to start a exterior reworking of my car to look like a S402, i'm not very technically savvy so.. i would appreciate any help and comments i can get here....

here are some things i have identified that i will need.

1) BBS STi S402 Rims

I read up a bit on that on the below threads but the issues i can see are these :

Treads are wider on these 19 inch Rims, this is not an issue on the s402 because of its wider fenders (which i cannot get without a VIN), so i rkn i will have to get the fenders flared out, i dont know if i would like to reproduce the vents... putting holes in my car does not appeal to me hahaha..... what do u guys rkn?

the second issues is can i just bolt the rims on to the car with no issues, ( spacers required? i dont think so... but.. can anyone confirm if these rims will fit directly?)

2) 6 pot brembo front 4 pot rear

anyone know if they can actually source the STi badged calipers? i can get the stock brembo 6 pots tho direct from brembo as a kit with the pads, although they are around the 4-5k mark, thats for 2 6 pot calipers and discs and brakes, will i be able to put my existing 4 pot brembos to the rear? or just just leave the rear set up ( brembo 2 pot ) as it is now?

3) Rear windscreen with wipers

I think i can source these from jp or the us without much issues, anyone has experience fitting these in australia?

Is there anything else that u guys will think i need to do the conversion or any advice or comments?

If you can get new 6 pot fr and 4 pot rr calipers, rotors and pads (you've said disc and brakes??) from Brembo in Aust for $4-5K then you had better buy as many sets as you can and sell them here mate...

yah i meant Brembo 6 pot calipers x2 and rotors and pad kit, around 5k au me thinks might be closer to 6 now coz of exchange rates, i already have existing 4 pot and 2 pot brembos so i was wondering if i could take the 4 pot i have now and put it into the rear?

with the rims tho, the treads are wider than what i have now, anyone have experience putting in wider tyres on to their libs? was any modification required to the flanges? is there clearance to the suspension at full lock or was it hitting things on tight turns?

sorry if i use the wrong terms as i said.. i'm not very tech savvy with this =)))

You wont have any issues fitting the 18 x 8 BBS wheels... they are only a fraction wider than your current Enkei's! I think you'll also find the rear guards on the S402 are exactly the same as your current guards, and I doubt that the fronts are any different apart from the vents!

Brakes wise... If your not fussed about not having the proper S402 rears on, I would leave your current 2pots rather than trying to fit your 4pots on the rear!

from memory ( i'm in syd right now ) the Enkei are 215 and the BBS STi are 235 or something, and that fits because the s402 has wider fenders etc, how would that affect the fit on my car?

I didn't think that the S402 had different fender either Jimmy.

Also, I think it has 2 pot rears...

Didn't the S402 have a stud pattern of 5x114 as well? Also, I also remembered that the S402 didn't have 6pot fronts 4 pot rears. it was 6pot fronts and 2pot rears.

*Edit - Shane's post confirms they are 6/2pots

Ah . . . are you sure of what you speak. The AUD is approx 20%+ greater purchasing against the "currency" basket over the last 6 months odd.

Also - If you can get the 6 pot Brembo disk, caliper, pads etc for that price could you please advise me where so I can spend my money :D

Exactly my point, well earlier point. +1

The price of Brembo's alone in 4pot fr and 2pot rear new is more that $5K AUS. Add the rotors, pads etc and it's up over $6-6.5K.

Daz - where the hell you been!! The For Sale section hasn't been the same without you! LOL. Thanks for pointing out the 6pot/2pot in Shane's post - I didn't check that. :wink:

I've done a rear wiper conversion on mine. Require rear glass, rear wiper motor and arm assembly, wagon wiper stalk, as well as some wiring knowhow (mine isn't fully wired up yet).

Haha Steve, I've been in the for sale section, just lurking. It was me who snapped up the STi strut off Dave. :P Ill sell it to you for the small price of.. Your brembos!

But yeah, been busy with uni and all. Trying to stay away from the for sale section in order to get rims.

for that price its ONLY the 6 pot rotors/discs/pads, not the 2 pot rear, i already have the 2 pot rear on my car currently,

drndrn: yes i did suspect that they were 5x114, but i didnt seem to find any posts that confirmed it, i think there was a car in legacygt.com which showed the bbs sti rims on without hub conversion? but as i said.. me no tech savvy about these things....

i can source this gear from friends who are overseas i just need to add the cost of air freight, but its around the 5-6k mark, it also depends on which rotors/pads u get with the kit, i was trying to find the correct link on brembo site but i couldnt... if anyone can help me out here? =))))

tangcla: where did you source ur stuff from, i dont think u could actually just drill a hole in ur windscreen, so you had to get the windscreen with the wiper assembly in it already or something? did u wire up and set up ur water tank in the boot for the wipers?

again sorry for my ignorance with all this =P
