Engine Warning Light

Postby RX_MY02 » Thu Feb 01, 2007 7:15 pm

Can any one help me?
Driving home from work today and the engine warning light came on as i was driving along adn then as i stopped the engine revs would then drop all the way down to the 500 rpm on the tacho. But then the warning light went away and then it was idleing properly.
Can anyone help me with this problem finding out the error codes or whether i have to go see someone?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help and point me in the right direction

I'd guess one of your sensors is failing.
The quickest way would be to drop into a Subaru dealer and get them to plug a monitor in to read out the code.

Thanks Ric
Took in last week and it was the ISC valvr blocke which was causing the error code. So they cleaned it for me right then.

I have been too lazy to look, but is there an OBD connector under the dash somewhere?
Can you get the codes from a series of flashing lights on the dash like you can on a commondore?

Most Subaru's have connections under the dash, near the centre, on the drivers side. Couple of connectors (green I think) tucked under the carpet which is used for computer diagnosis.
