Hi everyone,

I'm sure someone else on here has done, tried or thought about doing this before so hopefully someone has an easy way to do it.

On the sun visor things for both the driver and passenger there is a white safety notice with information in 5 languages that look very unsightly and out of place against the dark grey roof lining of my 06 STi. Has anyone been able to remove them successfully without leaving a mark or ruining the fabric underneath? they seem to be some sort of transfer made from a plastic type material. I thought about heating them up a bit thinking the glue might loosen up a bit but i don't want to melt the whole thing!

im guessin it would be against the law to remove it or atleast a defect.

Don't think so. Lots of cars come without any sort of safety notice on there.

As for getting it off... I don't know how successful you'll be. You'll probably burn the fabric and leave a big mess if you try and get rid of it. I'll have a look tonight to see if I have it too. To be honest, I don't even know if i have it or not cos I haven't noticed it before.

I wondered about this - it looks like fabric transfer paint or something... screened or heat treated on. Annoys me a bit too.

It reminds me of those iron-on's I used to buy a kid. Where you would iron the picture/image on the fabric and it's pretty much melted in there.

Yea they remind me of those iron on transfer things too. no idea if they could be removed..

I think they are required by law to advise on child seating and airbags. Ford used to put them in the door jamb, but for some reason, Subi still continues to put them on the s/visor...

I hate them with a passion! I've often thought about buying another sunvisor just to get the material off it! Errr...

I know! I only got the car last saturday.. so not my fault
just waiting for the salary packaging company to finish their paperwork so i can get it serviced.

damn you have to be care full of what else is in the back ground of your pic, or what is in the reflection

I know its not a perfect solution but what about just painting or colouring it black

Yeah I had a look when I hopped in the car after work... and now I can't stop noticing it! Damn you! Lol.

As for getting it off.... it really looks like it'll leave more of a mess if you try and get rid of it. Maybe re-upholster the sun visor?
