hey trendsetters. ive decided now that i have the new bling on, my brakes are looking alot more noticable, and have actually made things look a lil boring.

ive become keen to slap a bit of colour on the callipers, but wouldnt know where to start. what sort of paint should i use on them, and what sort of prep and do's and dont's should i be looking out for..

cheers..

kurt

Hey Kurt, you obviously need hi temp paint, you can get it in many colours and you'll find some at Supercrap..

Prep... same as any paint job, clean them thoroughly to remove all brake dust etc, wipe them down with a paint prep to remove all oil/grease (from your fingers etc), mask them then paint. If you want to go all the way you could remove them and sand them smooth but that's overkill really.

Brembo's are gold, Subaru 4 pots are red from memory...

Theres a guy on Rexnet in QLD that does the brakes.

He has come to sydney before and done big group sprays for suby owners, and he sells the stickers for $10 for the front and the back GT brakes.

I forget his name atm, but if you have a look there you will see that he has a big thread with how tos, heaps of pics etc.

When you find it, link it cause Im too lazy as I have to go out.

Cheers

Mick

PS: Just had a look, his username is "spectrix" on Rexnet, the link I had saved is dead now, but Im sure its still there somewhere.

Stuntgirl, did you get the Subaru type put on them??? It'd be pretty easy to stencil.

Use VHT high temp caliper paint..

You can leave them on and mask everything up or take them off. I painted mine last month and took mine off. Found it easer to clean and to paint...

I used degreaser and prepsol to clean..
