Entire dash and central console going off like its 1999

Hey lads, been dating a bird for a bit now. This is her car. 2004 Subaru Liberty 3.0L

Anyone seen this or know how to fix it?

It's tied to the HUD display above the radio which resets whenever it happens. Basically hit a pothole or a speed bump and the bright setting just goes on rave mode. Turning on the headlights stops this behaviour by forcing it to stay bright. Otherwise it will do it anytime from when the car stops shaking from the pothole to 10+mins.

Yesterday the HUD just died entirely and preforming some 'percussive' maintenance it came back on into rave mode.

Make sure the illumination control by your right knee isn't halfway between two settings.
Those clock modules below the cubby are famous for bad solder joints in Gen 4 Libertys. You'll find a number of posts discussing it.
