Dielectric grease in harness & loom plugs do’s and dont’s.

As some of our cars are turning 15 years plus, I’ve noticed using dielectric grease on harness, pins or in pin sockets or holes, and components like spark plugs, is a potential rule when undertaking regular service and checks.

But I’m sure there are considerations involved.

The do’s and dont’s, really.

It’s all about promotion and maintenance of continuity.

Meaning visual inspection of the parts and checking their integrity is the start.

The twist pin trick may be regarded as a secondary consideration for the promotion of continuity, as pin sockets may wear with repeated movement.
