6MT reverse lockout linkage...

Postby Kimmo » Sat Apr 17, 2021 5:29 pm

Is anyone familiar with this mechanism?

I had a thought about my BOV, which I rarely want to vent to atmos, but when it does it under the right circumstances it's frikken sweet...

I thought maybe I could operate it from a cable to the reverse lockout, which would give it another purpose on the sly, which would be nifty.

Reckon it's feasible?

Aaaawwww.

It uses a cable, which is conducive to this idea, but it seems exhaust and crossmember are in the way...

Yeah, nice.

...Wonder if I can access the top of the cable?

Is the BOV opened and closed purely mechanically?

Yeah, it's a GFB... I was thinking I could hack it to switch between atmo and plumback with a cable.

What about using a vacuum operated actuator (IIRC L series used them on the carby for A/C idle up) so you could control an vacuum solenoid with a switch?

Hmm, that'd probably work a lot better... I was thinking I'd have to really loosen it up before I could actuate it with a cable.
