how do i disable alarm chirp 2008 Gen 4 Liberty TBsti

Postby eddy6241 » Thu Jan 31, 2019 10:49 pm

hi, ive found 2 different methods on forums to disable the lock/unlock alarm "chirp" on my 2008 Gen4 subaru, but neither work:
1) (pressing lock/unlock on the keyfob simultaneously method, and the
2) hold down lock button, insert /remove key 5 times then open/close driver door method...

ive tried both methods repeatedly as per instructions on other forums and neither work, that chirp (and double chirp) is annoying when lock/unlocking the car.. is there a method i havent tried?

any assistance appreciated

Is it a factory alarm or aftermarket?

If factory, I thought you unlocked (or locked) it with the fob 5 times.
If aftermarket, who knows.

Most aftermarket, Mongoose, Alpine etc etc have a small key to turn off the chirp at the siren in the engine compartment..
