Painting wheels after sandblasting

Postby palmtree » Wed Jun 21, 2017 11:43 pm

Hey guys, new to this group and couldnt find the answer anywhere,

i've sandblasted my stock wheels so that i can paint them, but I've heard a couple of people say not to paint where the wheel connects to the hub. if that part has been sandblasted along with the rest of the wheel, do i need to do anything to protect the metal or anything? or just mask it up when painting/priming/etc.? (I'm painting the back because I'm a perfectionist). or is there something i need to do?

cheers for any help :)

I'm assuming they're aluminium? If so, mask them and leave them bare.

Yeah aluminium. So it won't corrode or bond to hub or anything else if I leave it bare?
