Converting Gen 4 seats from fabric to leather

Postby Finny19 » Tue Apr 11, 2017 9:50 pm

I bought a set of leather seats to fit into my 2004 2.5i wagon.
The leather seats came out of a 3.0R wagon
The leather ones are on electric rails but I only noticed when buying them.
When i went to install there's an extra black 2 pin connector for the seat motors.
On the drivers side, there's a wire taped up which connects to this input.
However the passenger side doesn't have this wire. Instead it has this cream coloured 4 pin connector which i'm not sure what it's for.

Looking for anyone who's done this swap before who can guide me to getting power to my passenger seat

(Currently cant put the rear bolt fully in cause the seat's position blocks it)
Cheers

Pretty sure that connector is for the seat detector etc?
Run power from the drivers side to the passenger side.

Can't be cause the seat detector light turns on for the passenger. So the unplugged cable must be something else.

Also, will trying running power from drivers side, I'll try tapping into the existing wire on the drivers side.
Cheers

If both driver and passenger are electric seats, then the only other difference is Seat Memory. I don't know if that helps, but that is the only difference between driver and passenger that I know of.

Yeah, pre-facelift doesn't have seat memory.

Do you mean this 4-pin connector on the Passenger side?
Mine is also taped up and not used. My car is a post-facelift GT SpecB, so it has all the standard features available.
So it might be for something we didn't get, like Seat Heating.

EDIT: I just realised that I have the same on the driver's side.

Yep, that's the one, except mines a brownish cream colour. It's on both sides, and yes, probably for the seat heater that the Aus market didn't get
