Steering wheel control interchangable?

Hi all,

I have a 04 Gt and have a chance to buy another steering wheel off a 3.0.
ive noticed the 3.0 has volume controls instead of gear change buttons.
Is it a case of pulling the buttons off my existing wheel and plugging them into the new wheel?

If the new steering wheel is also off a pre facelift, then they should just transfer over, yes.
But if the new wheel is a post facelift wheel, then they are physically different as far as I know.
