Hi,
I'm new to this forum, i have an 04 Liberty wagon which has been brilliant, i have a problem and wondering if anyone has had this happen to them before:
The car was getting harder to start, the battery was on the way out , so i replaced that with a new battery
After installing the new battery, the next day it was still only just starting
I thought it may be the Alternator, so when i got home i checked it with the multimeter
At the battery with the car off it read at just over 12v
When car was running,it showed around 14.2v, when i had someone rev it it stayed the reading stayed the same it didn't go up or down
I placed the battery on charge for a few hours to hopefully get enough charge to start me in the morning
Closed the bonnet , locked the car
In the morning, the car wouldn't open with central locking (i have changed battery in key aswell)
Tried the key in door , that won't move at all
Boot won't open, No lights flash at all when try to open it
So here i am , car in driveway with no way of getting into it!
Hopefully someone can give me some ideas of getting in
Thanks,Stu

Key in the door will not open?
Have you tried some lubricant spray and rocking the key clockwise and counter-clockwise to free up the tumbler?

Hi Billy,
Unfortunately the key doesn't turn,
I havent had a chance to give the lock a spray yet, it was the next thing i was going to try when i got home.
Hopefully it works

Did the key ever turn?
Maybe the door is a replacement and never did match?
Sorry, had to ask the question?

Strange you can't get in with the key.

But once you unlock it, charge your battery. Disconnect the positive terminal and put an amp meter in series. See how much current is being drawn. Be sure to close all doors etc.. Should be less than 100mA from memory. If not then something is draining it. You can then pull fuses to isolate which circuit is causing the excessive current draw. Should help narrow it down.

Thanks for the replies,
I ended up eventually getting into the car,
It turns out the new battery was a DUD!
Got it replaced and it's all good.
