So, young Alex, a Sydney member from the forum, and one who has got himself a Gen 4 GT, wants to put Brembos on his car.
He got himself a pair of second hand Brembo brakes from someone, however, sadly, one caliper had a stripped thread. (It might be you who sold them to him?)
By the looks of it, there were originally M12x1.5P helicoil inserts in the aluminium body of the caliper. One of these inserts was completely ripped out damaging the original helicoil oversized thread in the hole. Rehelicoiling was therefore not an option.

He came to me to seek a repair.
So, a new oversized insert was made from a M16x2.0P screw and inserted into the calliper.
Internals of the insert back to the original M12x1.5P thread.

By the way, lots of aluminium "salt" corrosion around the bolt lug.

So you tapped a new big thread, lock tighted in the bolt, then drilled and retapped the new insert?

Used an M16x2.0P screw to make a new insert.
Purchased an M16x2.0P tap and a M12x1.5P tap.
Drilled out the old helicoil thread in the caliper and tapped it M16x2.0P
Made the insert and tapped it 12x1.5P centrally while in the lathe.
Loctited in the insert and then filed the surface flat.

BTW, HardwrBob should have an experience of his own to add here. He has a Brembo caliper with the (what seems to be common) frozen bleed screw that has snapped of and requires refurbishment.

People will buy parts from America used in snow and on iced roads =salt. Or just plain dirty left to rot with old fluid etc.
