Yes,
The first Fluoro bulb got smashed when I dropped a tool on it.
So the jar protects the lamp?
The jar gets dragged around the floor when under the car.

And for your next trick, you should put chrome paint on one side of the jar (on the inside so it doesn't get scratched away) to act as a mirror (and so you're not blinding yourself when you're trying to shine it in smaller places in front of your face).

Will glue some aluminium foil on the inside of one half and paint matt black behind it!
