I know my Subaru workshop used to loosen the clamp on the throttle bottle, poke the thin plastic nozzle in under the rubber and then follow the directions on the can, mind you, this was on a N/A 2003 XS Forester. It may well be different for a GT.

P.S. Don't forget to re-tighten the clamp when you have finished.

Another thing that came to mind overnight, was that the mechanic told me he used a small amount of the spray around the bottom of the throttle body where the butterfly sits against the stop when the throttle is closed, as there is sometimes a small amount of crap in that area.
