Postby Adam24 » Tue Sep 15, 2015 8:02 pm

Hello my drivers door will not lock or unlock useing the central locking remote. I have to use the key, the other three doors are all good. I have heard its a common problem. How can i fix it. Or what part do i need. Thanks :D

Sounds like the actuator might be duff. Does the door actually make any noise at all when you try to lock/unlock it?

I reckon a wrecker will be the best bet for a replacement. Find someone who will sell you a damaged door on the cheap and then simply rip and replace. If you're not confident to do it yourself, just get any mechanic to do it for you.
I was going to procrastinate, but I put it off...

Thankyou. The door doesn't make any sound at all when i push the button. I am also thinking its the actuator.

From those who have responded on the thread regarding the central locking actuators, the drivers door is considered by far the WORST, MOST DIFFICULT door to do.
Good Luck!

Hey,
I've had the same problem previously with an older pulsar on the front passenger side.

What I did was removed it and filled it up with lubricant (not literally filled it, but all the moving parts). That gave me another week while I could order another one. Had to do it again a week later, was definitely a weak actuator. I would suggest lubricating it while you wait for the new one to arrive.

Also, you'll figure out how to get it in and out, so if you're overly enthusiastic to get the new one in (like I would be), you can do it faster.

Good luck.
