Battery Tray for Optima D34 in Gen4

Postby TwistdInfinity » Sat Sep 12, 2015 5:05 pm

Hi all,

A little ashamed to admit it, but the guy who did my audio install the first time around installed an Optima D34 Yellow Top.

I've noticed it can slide around a bit. Turns out he made up some brackets to run along the long edges of the top of the battery to try and hold it in place, and then screwed it down through the plastic base into the metal of the engine bay where the old battery sat (was it in a tray?)

So, I really need to fix this ASAP.

I've got a Gen 4 2.5i and need to know how I should fix this. Super Cheap Auto has a battery tray but it doesn't have dimensions on it so I can't tell if it would fit either the battery, or the space in my engine bay.

If anyone here has upgraded their battery, how did they secure it?

Thanks!

Just buy the tray from the gen 4 H6 engine.

I got mine from a local subaru dealer. Wasn't expensive.

Cheers mate! I'll give em a call Monday.

I usually avoid going straight to Subaru for parts, as they are normally quite expensive compared to OEM sourced elsewhere.

I asked them for carpet floor mats once and they told me they only sell Outback mats, not Liberty...I got them and they say Outback on them, then I saw some one's build thread with the Liberty mats. Last time I went to Subaru for anything.
