What pump & filter should I get?

Postby Riffnugget » Thu Jun 25, 2015 11:19 pm

Hey guys, I have a completely stock 2007 MY07 Liberty gt spec b automatic, and some people have told me to get a tune, pump and filter, and shockworks...
I'm starting with the pump & filter, I'm assuming this means the 'fuel' pump and filter?
Whats the best kit to buy?
Also, 'shockworks'.... is this to lower the car? Something to do with suspension?

I do apologise for my obvious lack of car knowledge...
Thanks guys!

No need for pump and filter, unless yours are failing. These are things to do later, when you actually need more fuel. You might never need them depending on how far you take the car.

Start with tune, exhaust (best bang for buck - down/dump pipe), silicone turbo inlet, TMIC.

Shockworks are coilovers. They'll help lower the car, but the main purpose of coilovers to improve handling, without sacrificing too much comfort.

Use the search function/google the forum...we reply to a thread like this too often. There is already so much info here.

I did mine at 150k when I got tuned for reliability and driveability.
The in-tank filter was pretty grotty, it's a peace of mind mod imho.
Kobe Motorsport has a good deal on the pump and filter atm...

Here's a search link, scroll down till you see "filters"

Get the stock filter and whilst your at it, might as well get the 0-rings as well.

As for the fuel pump, either DW65c or the new DW300c which are direct replacements. I'm running the DW65c which seems to be holding up fine with over 200KW ATW.

Some good threads on here on how to do it. Be wary of the O-rings as they are of different inner diameter !!
And be sure to double o-ring the fuel pump outlet as per DW recommendations.

1. Dw300 is NOT a direct replacement. Not to mention it's a pump you buy when you need more than 290kwatw on E85 or more than 350kw on 98...ie after an engine build.

2. Do not need 2 rings. There's only really room for 1.5, so you run the risk of hurting the system rather than helping it, by squeezing 2 in.
Subaru engineers only use 1 on std for a reason. Installed correctly 1 ring will see you up to 270kw on E85 and well over 300kw on 98, as proven many times.

Oh kewl, that's new. And seeing as it costs more than the DW65c, still a waste of money for a stock car
