Hi guys trying to wire up a lightbar to my liberty,can not get it to come on only on high beam cannonlynget in on constantly. Have had many subarus but the liberty are new to me and seem to be wired differently,any help appreciated

What are you trying to operate?
Are you trying to wire driving lamps that operate only on High Beam?
Please advise what it is you would like to happen with your light bar?

Okay,
It is now more clear.....

I once had an MY03 RX Liberty and I fitted two pair of driving lights to it.
I had fun wiring the driving light control to the high beam of the Liberty.

The driving lights were powered through a Dual Head Lamp Relay (I forget the brand - I think it was a NEW ERA brand).
The NEW ERA relay required a 12V Hot signal to operate the lamps.
I needed to lift a 12V Hot signal from High Beam, through a control switch on the dash, through to the NEW ERA headlamp relay.
Problem with Gen3 Subaru (and possibly later?).

On the Gen3 BOTH the low beam and high beam are powered from the main head lamp switch.
Turn on the headlamps, and the vehicle headlamp relay energises BOTH the low beam circuit and the high beam circuit.
The cold side of the low beam lamps are connected directly to the vehicle ground, so the low beams come on.
The cold side of the high beam is connected to another relay, the high beam relay, and will ground the cold side of the high beams when the light switch stalk is moved to high beam, turning on the high beam.
At other times when only low beam is on the high beam bulbs float and do not energise.

There may be many ways to do this, however I solved my problem by placing ANOTHER small relay electrically across one of the high beam bulbs. When the high beam was ON the relay additional relay was energised.
The additional relay was wired into the headlamp wiring harness connector behind the passenger side headlamp.
This one additional relay was then used to switch 12V to send to the control switches on the dash and then to feed the NEW ERA Dual Headlamp Relay for the driving lights.
It worked!

Simple way.
Grab a relay, wires, etc (appropriated 'sized'). Use a high beam plug as a trigger (put a diode on that so you don't accidentally energise the high beams), rest goes battery > relay > light bar.
If you want, you could put a switch on the trigger wire as well (so you can control whether if it turns on or not).

Have a look at the wiring diagram on the last page of this thread and see if it is of any use to you.
