Help Replacing Macintosh with GPS/DVD Unit in 2004 My07

Postby theantipop » Sat Apr 04, 2015 6:27 pm

Hey all,
I recently bought a Double-Din Touchscreen Car GPS/DVD Headunit (This one), to replace my stock Macintosh 6 Stacker in my 2004 My07 Liberty.

Now, I've been able to connect the power to the new unit using a ISO Harness I purchased from eBay (this one). I've also been able to connect all the new cables to the new unit; rear view camera, gps antenna, ipod, aux, usb etc.

However - the problem I'm now having is how to get sound working, connecting the Radio antenna cable and get the Steering wheel controls working.

Firstly, here is the back of my unit with most things plugged in (as listed above); http://i.imgur.com/Qskus5T.jpg

Here is some left over cables out the back of the unit that say "Front out R, Front out L, Rear out R, Rear out L, Subwoofer"; http://i.imgur.com/vHnk15R.jpg

Now, here is a picture of the four plugs in my car that I can't find a home for in the new unit; http://i.imgur.com/YTUMcCi.jpg - I'm not quite sure if they're steering wheel controls, sound, etc etc. Can anyone tell me what they are, or what they do?

The next is this big cable; http://i.imgur.com/tUP6Mo3.jpg - I'm guessing it's the Amp/Subwoofer cable - is there a way to convert that into something I can plug into the back of my unit?

And finally, here is a picture of the double prong Radio antenna cable; http://i.imgur.com/Bnoz4bG.jpg - however my new unit takes single prong - is there an adapter I can get from JayCar or SuperCheap? (I saw one on eBay, but would like one ASAP)

Thankyou for any assistance you're able to provide.
Matt

A 2004 model MY07 Liberty? Well blow me over?

The Libertys with the Macintosh Stereo system have a DIN cord connecting the Dash Head Unit to the Amplifier mounted under the passenger front seat. The FSM only shows the DIN cord, and does not show the breakdown of the individual circuits within. From there, the Amplifier outputs to the many speakers around the car.
Your Front L Front R, etc, etc, cables need to be connected to the input of the amplifier.

The output of the Antenna Amplifier connects to the Dash Unit.

The "big cable" you are holding is the DIN Cable mentioned above. You need to get a pin-out diagram for the cable. It is not in the FSM.

Try looking at these two links. They may help.
I found these previously before fitting a Yatour External CD Changer Adaptor.
These may help some.
