So as of recently my rear right hand side indicator has been playing up and I can't for the life of me think of what it could be...

When it works:
On cold days
Going down a hill (only on cold days)

When it doesn't work:
On hot days
Going up a hill

I've also noticed too, when its working and I turn a corner, once I've turned my steering wheel a few times the blinker decides to shit itself and the repeater in the dash starts going fast again

Has anyone had this or a similar problem?

Would anyone know of a cheapish way to fix it?
It's definitely not the globe, as I have replaced the old one with a new one thinking it would fix it

Wiring is shorting out on something, the heat is causing it to soften/expand, the movement is causing it to hang in different way and short, soo.. it's somewhere between the globe and the front of the car!

I was going to say "it goes on then off then on then off..." Mining vehicle pre-start check joke

If it is only one side, it may be the switch contacts in the indicator stalk.

The reason it flashes fast is the flasher unit is load sensitive (flashes fast if a globe blows) so the possible fault in the switch is not allowing all the current (load) to flow in the circuit.

If you wiggle the switch when it plays up, does it make a difference?

You may also try fiddling with the hazard switch when the fault occurs as (I assume Subaru as the same as most) both the left and right circuits pass through the hazard switch.

Remove the lower steering column cover & check that the wiring hasn't rubbed through here somewhere...
