Hi guys,

I am driving a 2006 Liberty GT Tuned by STI and have recently noticed my CEL and Cruise control lights flashing on the dash.
I got this diagnosed today and was told that I need to order the part "Bank 1 o2 sensor" or otherwise known as "Primary o2 sensor"

I got quoted $386 for a non genuine part plus around $90 labour.

Was just wondering if anyone knew somewhere where I could purchase the part for cheaper?
Thanks.

I just had to buy one myself. Costs $265 for a "revised model" genuine subaru from Garage88. Alternatively - around $180-220 for genuine ones either on ebay from melbourne sellers or partsouq.com

As far as labour goes....it takes around 5-10 mins to fit. Most of the time will be spent raising the car and undoing the undertray, the sensor itself is - unplug, unbolt, bolt in new and plug in the electric clip.

Is your car PreFacelift or Post?

Thanks for the reply,
is the part the same for all libertys? Also I'm not sure what you mean by pre or post facelift?
cheers

I'm not sure if it's the same part no., that's why I asked about what model it is. I'll find out tmr when my new sensor arrives.

Preface are 2003-2006 and postfacelift are 2007-2009, however even though they're 2007 models, some were built in 2006.

Preface are 2.0L and post are 2.5L engines.

2006, 2.0L so that would be pre face lift.

What would you recommend I do from here?

Thanks for that.

And that part you linked will fit my 2006 liberty gt tuned by STI? It's the same part for all libertys?

It's the right part no. for 2.0 turbo :) Good price too, you won't find more than $10 cheaper than that

Just an extra bit of input for you so you can get it right.
I had the same thing happen also, and it doesn't damage the car or anything if you keep driving for a while with the lights flashing. It's just an inconvenience because you can't use cruise control and it can make your car run a bit rich due to the obvious (air flow sensor isn't regulating fuel & air mixture properly).
Unfortunately it's just one of those shitty parts that does happen to cost a fair bit of $$ for something so small.

I've got the part, now I just need to install it?

is there any "how to" videos floating around or step by step guides?

cheers.

Easy as pie. Remove engine under tray like you would to change the oil, find the yellow wire and sensor plugged into the headers just under the block on the driver's side.

Unplug wires, slip a wrench onto the sensor, unbolt and install the new one in reverse. Make sure the new one comes with the little metal crush ring installed.

Tighten up nicely and start the car to check how it's working. Use the time under the car to check for oil leaks, torn cv boots etc :)

I did mine from the top but I don't have the engine cover or turbo heat sheild on atm so it was just a matter of taking the intercooler out, unplug the sensor and remove
