Rebuilding 1999 Liberty RX Engine

Postby Toddyjoe » Thu Feb 13, 2014 10:14 pm

Hi all I have just purchased a 99 RX very cheap claiming to have blown head gaskets and possibly cracked head, I have stripped the engine and turns out to be a loose head bolt. The whole engine is covered in coolant and oil, from the leaking head, and it doesn't seem to have many K's on the engine, 300 *** k on the clock but there is a few things that show other wise, just wondering if it is worth possibly buying a rebuild kit for the engine that replace all the seals etc?

Has anyone had experience using these kits, or am I off to buy the parts individually. http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-05-Subaru-Ba ... 0390396640

Any advice would be muchly appreciated.

Thanks

Todd

I just bought one of these kits from mizumoauto recently and brought it back from the US on a recent business trip.
The seller is super helpful - recommended.
I am yet to use it. Will go into Junior #1's Outback at the end of the year.

You would need the other kit for the earlier SOHC MY99 model.
