King Springs KSRS-29 Mod DIY

Hi Guys,
I wanted to share this mod for the GEN 4 Spec B wagon
There is really a need for some stiffer springs at the rear and for me at least I found the perfect solution. For those that want stock ride height +10-15mm at the rear then this is what you need!
I had a real problem with the stock soft rear springs in My 07 GTB and saggy rear end especially when loaded up or pulling the trailer. Still keeps similar handling comfort and if anything improves the handling with out being coilover bone jarring.
The King spring KSRS-29 are approx 30% stiffer than standard and the car sits around 10-15mm higher than stock which IMO looks great as its level to slightly higher in the rear which gives the car a real nice stance. When loaded up the car hardly sags and keeps a real nice ride height.
This really is a bang for your buck mod for around $150 for Springs and about 2 hrs work.
Only a few basic tools needed that you should have in your kit.

1.Loosen wheels
2.Jack car and place on stands and remove wheels
3. place jack under shock and jack till preload is off the shock, you will know when the bolt simply pulls out connecting the shock with the hub.
4. undo 2 stut top bolts in boot
5 Shock is ready to remove lower jack and pull shock out.
6. Place spring compressors on spring and tighten till spring is floating, undo nut on strut top while holding shaft with 6 mm Allen key.
7. Remove spring and clean shock. Fit compressors to King spring and place over Shock.
8. Make sure rubber boot under strut is alligned with spring(makes sense when you look at it)
9. refit strut top so Studs are parallel with hub bolt hole so that it bolts straight up(also makes sense when you look at it.)
10. Place back under car jack up and slide bottom bolt through then tighten up stud/strut top bolts.
11. refit wheels and do nuts up,lower car and tighten wheel nuts to approx 110Nm

This procedure doesn't cover trim removal but really its very straight forward. The photo in the boot shows where the strut top studs are located.
It will sit about 40mm higher when you lower the car off the stands. Don't sweat it, go for a drive and then it will settle over time to the correct ride height.
I will add more photos soon.

Enjoy the ride, it really is an improvment! :D

sorry to dig up the old thread but this is definitely a great mod. I've just got it done in my wagon and recommend for anyone owning the wagon. apparently the car sags a little bit over time and this helps it a lot to keep the butt up ;) cheers
