Fitting a Headlight Washer Cap?

How is a headlight washer cap fitted? I bought a new cap and there is no obvious way to fit it.

This is the inside of the cap;

It appears there is something missing...

Can anyone advise what to do?

Thanks,

Michael.

Looks like there's a clip that you are missing..

Best thing to do once you've got it sorted is to disable the headlight washers as they are pointless and only cause headaches as you are aware of...

Yep, you're missing a clip. Don't bother going to Subaru for it though - they don't sell them separately and you have to buy the entire washer assembly to get it which is $200 per headlight.

I'm in the same situation. I'm just going to glue them on and disable the washers.

As to how to disable them, I'm not sure yet. I'll post up here if I find out, if you find out can you post up too?
