Rust on Brake Rotor (was Drum)

Greetings all,

New to the forum as I've just purchased an MY08 Liberty STI after searching for some 2 years.
During this search I always noticed rust on the brake drums and thought it normal. Of course, mine has it too.

Is it actually normal?
If so, do I bother removing it and how?

Appreciate your help..

thanks in advance..

Normal, all brake rotors (not drums, our cars don't have drums) will rust to some degree. It is just surface rust so don't worry about it.

Oops, meant to say rotor but typed drum.

Looks ugly though....

Thanks on 2 counts..!

Just take your rotors off and prep the surface (sanding etc) and hit it with your favourite colour high temp paint. Black normally works best :)
