6mt gtb gearbox oil change

Postby Subawu lova lova » Wed Sep 04, 2013 12:33 am

I'm wanting to change my gearbox oil so I looked into it, got the torque t70 or something and looked up the service manual,
It shows torque wrench specs and here's my query are the torque specs for the two bolts (drain bolt and clutch side bolt) or if I was going to pull the pan off?

Just wondering... when people check the fluid levels on their gearboxes, do you do it cold or when the engine is warm?

Also do you aim to have it on the "Full" indicator? Mine is about halfway between the "low" and "full" when the engine is cold, but just hits the "full" when warm...

Kim, i've always checked all my fluids when warm, but after a couple of minutes of sitting so that there is some splashed around the internals, but most will have drained back to the oil pan.
Although when warm, the oil will expand a bit.

Thread digger.

Bookmarked for the VERY near future as my pan is off atm. I cant find any of this in my manual does anyone have any further advice for refitting the pan itself? I have some liquid gasket for reinstallation.

Stupid WSM - it refers to ATF being hot, and then calls up GL5 75-90....Last time I looked it was green, so definitely NOT ATF! ATF stands for Automatic Trans Fluid.
